REC's Rebate
The Solar Credits Scheme is run by the ORER (Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator) and aims to encourage Australians to invest in renewable energy installations by offering solar credits in the form of REC's (Renewable Energy Certificates). These credits are similar to shares and can be bought and sold.
A multiplier is applied to the first 1.5kW of a solar installation and can only be claimed once at the same address. Additional credits are generated for systems larger than 1.5kW, however the multiplier is not applied.

As the above table indicates, the multiplier will be reduced in July 2012 by 33 percent!
